Fallout 3 Game Add-Ons (DLC) Hints
When should I do this add-on's quests?
1 of 3: It's best to wait until your character is fairly skilled and high-level.
2 of 3: At a rough estimate, you should be level 15 with 50 or more points in at least two combat skills (including Energy Weapons and Unarmed, preferably), plus Repair and Lockpick. Also, have at least 75 points in Science.
3 of 3: WARNING: The aliens become significantly tougher when you're high-level, so it would be best to do the mothership's quests early, maybe even before you're level 15. Just be sure you have 75 or more points in Science, or you won't be able to do many useful things, including obtaining some unique items. If you wait until after you're level 20 or higher, be sure to come equipped for some serious stealth. (See the Customized Stealth-Based Character info for some useful tips.) Also, bring the alien blaster and lots of mines.
