Fallout 3 Game Add-Ons (DLC) Hints

Level 22 Perks

  • * Deep Sleep: With this perk, you'll get the Well Rested bonus' +10% XP no matter what bed you sleep in. Even if you're really eager to get up to level 30 ASAP, this perk is of very little value. You can always rent a bed or sleep in the bed in your house to get the Well Rested bonus, go kill enemies until it wears off, and then repeat. Also, the Swift Learner perk's +10% XP bonus doesn't ever wear off or require you to sleep, so it would be better to get if you really want an XP bonus.

    * Puppies!: This perk allows you to pick up a puppy as a follower if Dogmeat ever gets killed. The puppy will be pretty much identical to Dogmeat, except that he'll have twice the hit points. If the puppy ever gets killed, another one will appear. This sounds like a great perk for anyone who likes to have Dogmeat with him all the time, but the puppies are extremely glitchy. Sometimes they'll appear at the place where Dogmeat died after a few hours, and sometimes they won't. The same goes for them appearing near Vault 101. Also, they sometimes turn into "ghost dogs" and freeze in place, becoming completely worthless. (Hopefully, this'll get fixed in a patch.)

    * Quantum Chemist: This perk will automatically convert every 10 regular Nuka-Colas you put in your inventory into one Nuka-Cola Quantum. This can be somewhat useful if you're an explosives fanatic and really love nuka-grenades (and started saving up Nuka-Colas at the beginning of the game), but don't bother taking it otherwise.
