Eastern Ruins Interior Region Summary

  • The eastern of the two major D.C. ruins areas is divided up into nine regions, each of which contains some of the ruins' fast-travel destinations. Below is a list of the regions and which fast-travel areas each one contains. The number in parenthesis after each area is its location number on the Zone 9 Map (unless another zone is noted).

    * Chevy Chase region: Chevy Chase North (13 in Zone 6), Chevy Chase East (21), GNR Building Plaza (22).
    * Dupont Circle region: Dupont West (28), Dupont Northeast (29), Dupont East (30), Dupont Station (31).
    * Georgetown region: Georgetown West (32), Georgetown North (33), Georgetown South (39), Georgetown East (43).
    * The Mall region: Mall Northwest (40), Lincoln Memorial (41), Mall Southwest (42), Museum of History (44), The Washington Monument (45), Museum of Technology (46), The National Archives (47), The Mall Northeast (48), The Capitol Building (51).
    * L'Enfant Plaza region: L'Enfant Plaza (60), L'Enfant South (62).
    * Pennsylvania Avenue region: White House (49), Penn. Ave Northwest (50), Penn. Ave North (52), Penn. Ave South (53), Metro Central (54), Penn. Ave East (55).
    * Seward Square region: Seward Sq. Northwest (56), Seward Sq. North Metro (57), Ranger Compound (58), Seward Sq. Southeast (59).
    * Takoma Park region: Takoma Industrial (26), Takoma Park (27).
    * Vernon Square region: Vernon Square North (23), Vault-Tec Headquarters (24), Vernon Square East (25), Vernon Square Station (34), The Statesman Hotel (35), Our Lady of Hope Hospital (36).

    Now for the list of exterior fast-travel locations where you can enter underground metro areas that connect either directly or indirectly to an interior region. Note that the exterior location is listed first, followed by the underground area(s) you go through, followed by the interior region that you exit to.

    * Tepid Sewers (37) -> Tepid Sewer -> Georgetown West (Georgetown region)

    NOTE: The Takoma Park region can't be accessed without going through the Vernon Square region. Use the above directions for getting to it, then use the Vernon East/Takoma Park metro area to get to Takoma Park.

    Below are a few shortcut routes for getting from one interior region to another without having to go through as many metro areas as some of the above directions have you do. For instance, if you've already discovered a fast-travel spot in the Chevy Chase region, why not go there and use the Metro Junction area to get to Vernon Square instead of starting at the Anacostia Crossing Station and going through it and three more metro areas?

    * Chevy Chase East (Chevy Chase region) -> Metro Junction -> Vernon Square North or Vernon Square Station (Vernon Square region)
    * Chevy Chase East (Chevy Chase region) -> Metro Junction -> Dupont Northeast (Dupont Circle region)
    * Georgetown South (Georgetown region) -> Georgetown/The Mall Metro -> Mall Northwest (The Mall region)
    * L'Enfant Plaza (L'Enfant Plaza region) -> Hazmat Disposal Site L5 -> Mall Southwest (The Mall region)
    * Seward Sq. North Metro (Seward Square region) -> Penn. Ave/Seward Sq. Metro -> Penn. Ave East (Pennsylvania Avenue region)
    * Vernon Square East (Vernon Square region) -> Vernon East/Takoma Park -> Takoma Park (Takoma Park region)

    There are other underground areas and interconnections, but all you need to do is use the above information to discover one fast-travel location within each interior region, after which you can easily fast-travel there and continue exploration whenever you want to.
