Fallout 3 Hints
Freedom Street Station
1 of 12: This metro area has exits to a spot a bit SW of Vernon Square Station (Vernon Square region), Penn. Ave North (Pennsylvania Avenue region), and the Metro Central area. This guided tour assumes you're entering from the Metro Central area.
2 of 12: From where you enter, move down the hallway and across a bridge walkway to reach the spot where a scavenger has set up camp. You can talk to him to buy and sell items, and to have your items repaired.
3 of 12: Go down the stairs behind the big sandbag wall and through one machine-filled room to reach another one. The second one has a ghoul in it, plus a first aid box on the west side of the central pillar, and a couple of weapon-making items in the eastern niche (a sensor module on some shelves and a conductor on top of a small machine).
4 of 12: Past that room is a hallway with a ghoul in it, plus some stairs and a door. Start by going up the stairs to reach a hallway.
5 of 12: Search the dead ghoul who stepped into a bear trap, then watch for three bear traps between that point and a Nuka-Cola vending machine around the corner. (Sneak up to each bear trap and disarm it for XP.)
6 of 12: Search the vending machine, then go past it to find the exit that leads to Penn. Ave North in the Pennsylvania Avenue region.
7 of 12: Turn around and go back the way you came. When you reach the bottom of the stairs, turn left and go through the door that's ahead, ready to disarm three more bear traps.
8 of 12: Past two more doors, you'll enter a tunnel that's full of ghouls and radioactive barrels. You'll undoubtedly want to quicksave before continuing.
9 of 12: From where you enter the tunnel, look to the left to see that there's a door next to a pool of radioactive water. If you go through the door, all you'll find is a flooded area with a single ghoul in it, so you probably won't want to bother with it.
10 of 12: Move down the tunnel, killing ghouls and edging around radioactive barrel piles, until you come to an open door on the left. Go through it and up some stairs to end up on a higher walkway above the flooded room mentioned in the previous hint. (If you want to kill the ghoul in that room for XP, you may be able to shoot it from up here.)
11 of 12: Go along the walkway until you find another doorway to go through, past which are some stairs and yet another walkway. Check the metal box on a shelf near the start of that walkway, then move down it to reach a room with three metal boxes on shelves, plus a steam gauge assembly on top of a big crate.
12 of 12: Go down the hallway past that room and up some stairs to find two cash registers to raid, then move on to find the door to Vernon Square Station.
