Fallout 3 Hints
Enjoy the party and speak with the guests.
1 of 7: After you get your new Pip-Boy 3000, you'll get this objective.
2 of 7: To start with, walk up to Amata to get her to talk to you.
3 of 7: She'll give you a skill book called "Grognak the Barbarian," which will appear in the Items/Aid section of your Pip-Boy. You could go there and click on the book to increase your Melee Weapons skill by one, but it's best to wait until later in the game when you have the Comprehension perk, since you'll get a two-point increase then.
4 of 7: There are several more people in the area you can talk to, so go see who else has presents for you.
5 of 7: Talk to Stanley at the bar to get a kid's baseball cap that adds 5 to your Melee Weapons skill when you wear it.
6 of 7: Talk to Old Lady Palmer to get a sweetroll. Eating it can restore a little health, and you may need it before long, since Butch might get up and demand that you give him the sweetroll. (Keep refusing to give it to him until he turns hostile, then try to dodge him until the adults stop him.)
7 of 7: At some point during this, your father will answer the intercom and then talk to you, thereby completing this objective.
