Fallout 3 Hints

(Optional) Bring Button Gwinnett the ink.

  • 1 of 10: After searching all of Button's supplies along the north wall of the room (be sure to get his unique wig), go back the way you came.
  • 2 of 10: Use the lift to return to the rotunda, then exit the National Archives building and make your way to the Arlington Library (location 20 on the Zone 9 Map).
  • 3 of 10: After you enter and talk to Scribe Yearling, go through the doorway that's directly west of the front desk, then turn left and go down the hallway to a big room where some Brotherhood members are shooting down raiders.
  • 4 of 10: Go through the doorway in the back right (NW) corner of that room's lower floor, then turn left to find the door to the Library Media Archive area.
  • 5 of 10: Go up the stairs past the door to reach a doorway with a bunch of baseballs on the floor near it. Move into the doorway slowly to get a ball-firing machine off to the left to start firing balls, then get ready to fight the raiders that come running.
  • 6 of 10: Past the ball-firing machine, go through a doorway and up some stairs to reach a hallway with some frag mines set just to the left. Go into Sneak mode and deactivate (and take) each one.
  • 7 of 10: Past them, a Brotherhood guy will start fighting some raiders. Help him shoot them down, then blow away the two ceiling turrets in the room the raiders came from (or turn them off by hacking the console in the small east-side room).
  • 8 of 10: Go around the raider room's barrier to reach the back of the room, then check the Restoration Supplies box that's on a desk next to two ammo boxes.
  • 9 of 10: The ink container in that box is what Gwinnett needs, so take it and retrace your steps until you're back in his room in the National Archives building.
  • 10 of 10: Talk to him to hand the ink over and get a forged Declaration of Independence.
