Fallout 3 Hints
Travel to the playground in Minefield.
1 of 15: The Minefield area is a long way to the north, so stock up for a long, hard journey. Also, use my Zone 5 Map and Zone 6 Map to help you find discoverable areas along the way.
2 of 15: TIP: Before you go to Minefield, go get the "Strictly Business" misc. quest and finish its objective that has to do with enslaving Arkansas. That way, he won't be sniping at you and blowing things up as you explore Minefield. The following hints will assume you don't do this, but you really should so that you can relax and loot the whole town.
3 of 15: When you get close to Minefield, approach it from the south by going along the main road.
4 of 15: When you get near the first houses, turn right and go up next to the first destroyed house that's on the right side of the road.
5 of 15: Enter Sneak mode and sneak along the back (east) side of the house.
6 of 15: When you reach some stacked cars, sneak along beside them, then a fence, and then the next house.
7 of 15: Turn left just past that house and sneak over to some more stacked cars, then turn right and sneak down to the end of the second stack.
8 of 15: Go around them and then sneak SW toward a mailbox with a frag mine next to it. Move slowly up to where you can use the Activate key to first disarm the mine, and then take it.
9 of 15: As soon as you get it, turn right and cross the street to where you can disarm and grab another mine next to a white picket fence.
10 of 15: By now, the nearby sniper will have seen you and started shooting at you. Leave Sneak mode and run into the nearby playground to get this objective finished. (Read on for exit instructions.)
11 of 15: From the playground, you can see and pretty easily shoot down the sniper, but you shouldn't do that since he's needed alive for the "Strictly Business" misc. quest.
12 of 15: Turn and run into the wrecked house remains that are south of the playground. Exit the house on its other side, then turn left and look at the street.
13 of 15: There's a car on it that the sniper will probably shoot, so wait next to the house until it blows up.
14 of 15: Give the flaming car remains a wide berth as you get onto the street and head south.
15 of 15: Watch for frag mines on the street as you go, though there probably won't be any left after that car explosion. Keep going until you can fast-travel back to Megaton.
