Post-Quest Notes

  • 1 of 8: Return to the Family hideout if you made a deal whereby Arefu supplies the Family with blood packs.
  • 2 of 8: Tell Vance that Arefu accepted the proposal, then ask him to teach you the ways of the vampire.
  • 3 of 8: That'll get you the Hematophage perk, which allows you to regain 20 HP instead of just 1 HP from consuming a blood pack item.
  • 4 of 8: You can also sell blood pack items to Vance for 15 caps each. If you save them up and go sell them to him periodically, you can make a lot of extra caps. (For healing, you can always use stimpaks and irradiated water sources.)
  • 5 of 8: If you proposed that the Family help defend Arefu, go back there again and check the shack that's near the start of the town's bridge.
  • 6 of 8: Now that Alan's moved in, you can enter the shack and steal a few items, including an Unarmed skill book that's on the table to the left of the entry door.
  • 7 of 8: You can get something by telling most of the Arefu residents that any help would be appreciated. Evan King will give you a cheap item, Ken Ewers will offer repair services, Brailee Ewers will give you up to 10 tin cans, and Karen Schenzy will mark some locations on your world map if you haven't discovered them yet.
  • 8 of 8: Finally, you can return to Lucy West in Megaton and tell her that you delivered her letter, but you won't get anything for it.
