Fallout 3 Hints

Item Notes

  • 1 of 4: The jukebox and work bench items aren't really worth the money. The jukebox just acts like a radio tuned to the GNR station, and the work bench is the same as any other work bench in the game. (You do get a free bottlecap mine with the work bench, though.)
  • 2 of 4: The "my first infirmary" item is of much more use. You can use it any number of times to fully restore your HP and limb condition, and to reset your rad meter to zero. Sure, resting in your bed also restores HP and limb condition, but the infirmary is still great due to the fact that you can heal yourself on exploratory expeditions by drinking irradiated water and eating irradiated food items (thereby saving your better stuff, like purified water and stimpaks), then return home and get rid of all the rads for free.
  • 3 of 4: The "my first laboratory" item can be used to de-toxify you (cure you of any alcohol and chem addictions) and create random chems. It's another great item to come home to after exploratory missions, since you'll often have used enough chems and alcohol to get addicted to them. The laboratory's weakness is that if you set it to create a chem, it'll be unusable for the next 24 hours. (So set it to make a chem, then go out exploring for 24 hours or more before returning.)
  • 4 of 4: The other buyable item is the pristine Nuka-Cola vending machine. It comes with eight ice-cold Nuka-Colas in it, which heal twice as much health as regular Nuka-Colas do. Also, you can insert regular Nuka-Colas into the machine to instantly transform them into ice-cold ones. Build up a large stock of ice-cold Nuka-Colas, and grab a few whenever you're ready to head out on an expedition.
