Undertake the Treeminder's Ceremony.
1 of 5: After Birch gets up and walks over to the Basin of Purification, wait until he says to drink the sap from the basin.
2 of 5: Activate the basin and choose to drink the sap.
3 of 5: After you do that, you'll have to wait until the treeminders are through "praying," at which time you'll be taken to the Grove.
4 of 5: Move over to the talking tree, then go around to where you can see its twisted "face."
5 of 5: Talk to the mutated tree-person until you can agree to kill it.
