1 = Vault 101. This is where you are until you finish the first set of main quests. You'll come back for the misc. quest "Trouble on the Homefront." <Medicine bobblehead, Melee Weapons skill book, rock-it launcher schematic>
2 = Springvale. You may visit this devastated town on an early main quest. <Unarmed skill book>
3 = Megaton. This rusty old town should become your base of operations early in the game. You'll come here for an early main quest, and you can get the misc. quests "The Power of the Atom," "The Wasteland Survival Guide," and "Blood Ties" here. <Strength bobblehead, Melee Weapons skill book, rock-it launcher schematic, Sheriff's Duster, Sheriff's Hat>

9 = The Overlook Drive-In. There's a small raider party here.
