Do I have to go back outside the way I entered?
1 of 8: No, you can open the area's above-water door from this side.
2 of 8: Leave Pinkerton's area and go back down the gassy corridor, remembering the tripwire if you didn't deactivate it.
3 of 8: NW of the top of the stairs is an open door leading into a room.
4 of 8: Enter the room in Sneak mode, and move forward cautiously.
5 of 8: There's a frag mine set on top of the ammo box next to the table that's to the right of the locked door.
6 of 8: After you disable the frag mine, go over to the door and try to open it.
7 of 8: Look just to the right of it to find a lock mechanism switch that you can use to unlock the door.
8 of 8: After you go through the door, you can fast-travel back to Megaton (or wherever).
