Fallout 3 Hints
The Runaway Kids
of 12: Go to Rivet City (location 64 on the Zone 9 Map) and board the ship.
of 12: Find and talk to Tammy Hargrave about anything, then talk to her son, James Hargrave.
of 12: After you ask where his family is, talk to him again and say that you've met his mother, and therefore understand why he's such a brat.
of 12: Pass a very easy Speech Challenge to get James to run away with a girl named C.J. Young. (Note that this causes you to lose a considerable amount of karma.)
of 12: Awhile later, go outside and talk to the guard who's posted near the ship's rotating bridge.
of 12: Ask where C.J. went to learn that she and James probably got to shore somehow.
of 12: Search for them a short distance to the north.
of 12: You'll find them at Anacostia Crossing (location 63), near a table that's just west of the stairs leading down to the Anacostia Crossing Station metro area.
of 12: Talk to either one of them and agree to escort them back to Rivet City to get them both to follow you, and to get back half of the karma you lost earlier. (Or just leave them where they are if you don't want to get any karma back.)
of 12: Fast-travel to Rivet City, then wait for the kids to catch up with you.
of 12: Lead them across the bridge, then wait for them to enter Rivet City on their own.
of 12: NOTE: There seems to be nothing else to do on this, though the city guards will still say that C.J. is missing when you talk to them.
