Is there any way to rig it so someone else can win the election?
1 of 13: Yes, if you really want to go to all the trouble.
2 of 13: Convince either Rosie or Bob (or both) to vote for themselves.
3 of 13: After all the votes are in, tell Dave about it so he'll go check the ballot box.
4 of 13: There's no way you can ever get the key to open the ballot box, but you will have a second or so to grab out the ballots as Dave is opening the box.
5 of 13: Go under the stairs and move up next to the ballot box so you can reach it easily.
6 of 13: After Dave approaches the box from the other side, keep trying to open it until you can, then snatch out all of the votes for Dave. (If you got both Rosie and Bob to vote for themselves, snatch out one of their votes, too.)
7 of 13: NOTE: Even though you're taking owned items in full view, you shouldn't get in trouble for stealing. If you do, you'll have to be sneakier. (Use a stealth boy if your Sneak skill isn't very high.)
8 of 13: If you do it right, Dave will get mad and leave the republic because someone else won the election.
9 of 13: Talk to the winner to get the code for the safe that's in Dave's office. Raid it sometime (when no one's looking) to get a unique hunting rifle and some other stuff.
10 of 13: As for Dave, he's off to "annex" Old Olney. Apparently, he doesn't know it's already been annexed by a bunch of deathclaws.
11 of 13: If you want to kill Dave and loot him, you can either follow him until he's well away from his former republic and then shoot him down, or you can go off and do other things for awhile to ensure that he arrives at Old Olney.
12 of 13: If you're very powerful (or very sneaky), visit Old Olney and look for Dave near a spot with several dead bodies lying about. Checking the local area map, that spot is about halfway between the two entrances to the Olney Sewers area.
13 of 13: If Dave isn't dead yet, he soon will be. If you can kill the deathclaws or avoid their notice, you'll be able to loot Dave's body and make your getaway.
