Fallout 3 Hints
The Book Collector
1 of 6: Go to the Arlington Library (location 20 on the Zone 9 Map) and enter the lobby.
2 of 6: Soon after you do, a Brotherhood of Steel scholar named Scribe Yearling will talk to you.
3 of 6: Listen to and accept her offer to pay you for any undamaged pre-war books you find.
4 of 6: From now on, you can turn over any books called "pre-war book" to her for 100 caps and 10 XP each.
5 of 6: There are 98 such books scattered about the wasteland, so if you went to the trouble to hunt them all down, you could make a total of 9800 caps and 980 XP!
6 of 6: NOTE: Some merchants (including Lydia Montenegro in Tenpenny Tower) sell pre-war books, but they're different somehow, and Scribe Yearling won't buy them. The same goes for most of the pre-war books that you can find in the five game add-ons' areas.
