Fallout 3 Hints

Dogmeat

  • 1 of 7: This unusual follower can be found in the Scrapyard (location 4 on the Zone 6 Map).
  • 2 of 7: He's fighting raiders up near the Scrapyard's NE corner, next to a two-car stack.
  • 3 of 7: After he kills the raiders, walk up to him to get him to "talk" to you.
  • 4 of 7: Speak nicely to him until he joins you as a follower.
  • 5 of 7: He has 500 hit points and a melee bite attack. When you send him away, he goes to a spot just outside Vault 101.
  • 6 of 7: NOTES: You can't trade equipment with Dogmeat at all, but he does have two big advantages. One is that you can have both him and another follower with you at the same time. Also, you can tell him to go find a certain type of item for you. (After you do, either follow him along, or do other things until he returns and gives you what he found.) If you ever need to heal him during combat, talk to him and give him a stimpak. Instead of sending him to Vault 101 when you're done with him for awhile, you could have him wait somewhere handier, like in your house.
  • 7 of 7: MORE NOTES: If you have the Broken Steel add-on installed, Dogmeat will have a vast number of hit points, just like Fawkes. If you don't have Broken Steel installed, and don't care to have Dogmeat as a follower, you could kill him and get another follower to fill his slot.
