Is there any way to steal the fat man?
1 of 6: Yes, but it's a bit tricky to pull off.
2 of 6: First, start on the "Strictly Business" misc. quest if you haven't already to get the mesmetron.
3 of 6: Use the frenzy tip in that quest's notes to make a security guard go nuts in the market area, preferably after sneakily pickpocketing his ammo so he's less likely to kill someone.
4 of 6: During the fight, Flak may grab the fat man from his store's inventory and equip it.
5 of 6: If so, sneakily pickpocket all the mini nukes he has on him, then leave the area and return to get him to unequip the fat man. You can then pickpocket it, though it may take many tries.
6 of 6: If you can't ever manage to pickpocket it, you can still buy it from Flak (or enslave him and take it from him then).
