Fallout 3 Hints
What should I do with this "Button Gwinnett" character?
1 of 6: Talk to him to learn the specific nature of his delusions.
2 of 6: When it comes time to make a decision, you can say that you have to have the Declaration at any cost in order to start a combat.
3 of 6: Thankfully, neither "Button" nor his two turret pals are particularly tough, so you should be able to finish them off easily.
4 of 6: If you instead say that there's more to this than he realizes, you can try to pass a tough Speech Challenge to get the real Declaration, or you can offer to cooperate in order to get him to make a forgery.
5 of 6: The forgery would work just fine for this quest, but it would require you to go all the way to the Arlington Library to get some special ink. It's much easier just to trash this crazed robo-dork and look around for the real Declaration.
6 of 6: NOTE: If you want to gain karma here, you'll have to go the longer way of getting Gwinnett to make a forgery for you. Killing him will cause you to lose karma. (Yes, the quick and easy way is the way of the Dark Side, just like in Star Wars.)
