Fallout 3 Hints
Go to the Rivet City Science Lab.
1 of 6: After putting your favorite armor back on, follow your father back to the garage and then outside.
2 of 6: Have a weapon at the ready when you exit the garage, since you'll then have to follow your father around and kill all of the nearby hostiles. (If there are any -- there may or may not be.)
3 of 6: When you can, fast-travel to Rivet City and wait for the rotating bridge to swing back into place so you can cross.
4 of 6: Visit the marketplace if you have merchant business to do, then return to the science lab.
5 of 6: Find Doctor Li, and wait near her until your father shows up and talks to her.
6 of 6: Wait until they're done talking (or not, if you get impatient), then talk to both of them.
