2 of 4: Since the vault's big entry door will be closed and locked behind you permanently when you leave, you'll probably want to first go around and thoroughly loot the place.
3 of 4: When you're ready to go, return to where Officer Taylor is standing around in the Vault 101 Atrium/Upper Level area, then go through the door behind him that leads to the Vault 101 Entrance area.
4 of 4: Head east until you reach the small door that leads outside to the wasteland, at which time this quest will be completed, and the vault will be closed to you forever.
