Faust: The Seven Games of the Soul Hints
How should the bed posts be set?
1 of 16: Examine the gauges on the bed posts carefully. The sea captains mounted above each gauge might give you a clue.
2 of 16: Sailors are skilled navigators, especially in the use of charts and maps.
3 of 16: Did you look at the jumbled chart on the brick door across the room?
4 of 16: Open that door. Notice the indentation in the brick.
5 of 16: Have you found anything resembling a chart or map that might fit there?
6 of 16: Attach the Geological Survey Map on the indention and close the door. (An automatic movie should play. If it doesn't, zoom in on the front of the door again.)
7 of 16: The captains each have a pipe which points up or sideways.
8 of 16: At the head of the bed, both of the pipes point longways to the right. The pipes at the foot of the bed point up.
9 of 16: Longitude and Latitude coordinates are provided on the chart.
10 of 16: Nathaniel left something in his upstairs desk drawer to help him remember one from the other.
11 of 16: Refer to his pipe, which has the directions for Longitude and Latitude marked.
12 of 16: Some players have had trouble with this segment. Beginning with the headboard gauges may work best for you, leaving the footboard right gauge for last. If you have difficulty seeing the gauges at all because they are so dark, adjust the brightness and contrast on your monitor and try playing this portion in a dark room.
13 of 16: The gauges on the bed's headboard should be set from left to right using the Longitude coordinates.
14 of 16: The left should be set to 50; the right at 20.
15 of 16: Use the Latitude coordinates to set the dials at the foot of the bed, from left to right.
16 of 16: The left foot post is already set to 0 (zero), but you may need to turn it all the way around for it to be recognized. The right one needs to be set at 45. Position the marker at about 40 and ease it slowly toward the 50.
