F.E.A.R. Hints

How can I get these doors open?

  • 1 of 10: If you look around the fence area, you'll see a shimmering effect and hear the hiss of a gas leak.
  • 2 of 10: Maybe you could stand back and use weapons fire to ignite the gas and blow open the doors.
  • 3 of 10: However, no amount of shells, bullets, or grenades will ignite the gas, even if you shoot the leaky gas valve directly through the fencing.
  • 4 of 10: If you examine the fence door near the valve, you'll see that it has a padlock on it.
  • 5 of 10: Try shooting the padlock or bashing it off with a melee attack.
  • 6 of 10: You'll have to get right up next to the fence door and hit the padlock from there since there's junk piled in the way to block a possible distance shot. (And no number of grenades or remote bombs can harm the mighty padlock.)
  • 7 of 10: This sequence is really very badly rigged. The idea is that when you either shoot or bash the padlock, the fence door will open and bump the leaky gas valve, causing the gas to explode and throw you all the way back to the pool of water. (Yeah, like a gas valve would explode when lightly bumped by a door, but not when shot repeatedly or when grenades go off nearby. Surrrrre.)
  • 8 of 10: Fortunately, the explosion and knock-back won't take away any health or armor, so just let it happen. (Or move over to the right a little to avoid the knock-back.)
  • 9 of 10: Climb back out of the water if you got knocked into it and go check out the fence area.
  • 10 of 10: You'll find that both fence doors have been blown off, but one of them is totally blocked and the other only has a reflex booster past it.
