F.E.A.R. Hints

Assassins

  • First Seen: Interval 04, Watchers

    These special Replica soldiers never carry any sort of weapon, but they don't really need to. They're very fast and agile, and they wear special stealth suits that make them nearly invisible at a distance (especially in dim areas).

    Since they can't use any sort of ranged attack against you, they'll use their stealth and superior acrobatics to get close to you undetected and let loose with a vicious melee attack. They often coordinate attacks on you so that one hits you in the back right after you whirl to face the other one who just hit you. Also, they can lie in wait high up on a wall and then drop down on you.

    TIPS:
    * When you know Assassins are in an area, approach slowly and look carefully for the slightly "warpy" effect that the Assassin stealth suits have. If you see a blur running around, shoot it! If it's running toward you, turn on SlowMo and shoot it while backing away.
    * When you're being double-teamed by Assassins, you could back into a corner and fire ahead of you or wait for an Assassin to appear in front of you and hit him with your own melee attack. (As usual, SlowMo can really help with the timing.)
    * You could also try kicking up some dust and debris by shooting the walls and floor with the sub-machinegun or assault rifle -- that can sometimes make Assassins easier to spot.
