The elevator fell down the shaft, so where do I go now?
1 of 4: Right down after it.
2 of 4: If you walk slowly up to the shaft's edge and look down, you'll see that the elevator car isn't very far down.
3 of 4: You can drop onto its roof without taking any damage.
4 of 4: You can then walk through the open shaft doors to return to the hallway near the teacher's lounge.
