Are the puzzles timed?
Except for a few short bits, time isn't a factor in this game. (And there's no fighting either.) I'll warn you about the few timed or dangerous bits, but you needn't get ulcers about them; if you don't survive, the game automatically returns you to the last point before the clock started ticking.
