How can I get into the third cave?
1 of 11: Pick up the bamboo pole.
2 of 11: In order to reach the inner cave you have to lower a bridge to cross an underground river.
3 of 11: To do this, you have to place a bucket containing 4 liters of water onto the scale.
4 of 11: Pick up the 3-liter bucket standing there.
5 of 11: Pick up the broken 5-liter bucket.
6 of 11: Unfortunately there's a hole in the 5-liter bucket.
7 of 11: Now you've got 2 serviceable buckets and can make 4 liters with those.
8 of 11: If you are REALLY stuck, probably the quickest solution is as follows:
9 of 11: Fill the 5-liter bucket from the pump. Pour the 5-liter bucket into the 3-liter bucket. Empty the 3-liter bucket. Pour the 5-liter bucket (now containing only 2 liters of water) into the 3-liter bucket. Fill the 5-liter bucket again. Pour the 5-liter bucket into the 3 liter bucket (which already holds 2 liters of water). Finally, place the 5-liter bucket holding 4 liters of water onto the scale.
10 of 11: When you put the (repaired) 5-liter bucket containing 4-liters of water onto the scale, the bridge descends.
11 of 11: Gilbert can now cross the river. Enter the third cave.
