Gabriel Knight 3: Blood of the Sacred, Blood of the Damned Hints

How do I get into the rooms with dumbwaiters?

  • 1 of 11: Do you remember the dumbwaiter in your room?
  • 2 of 11: It had a lock on it.
  • 3 of 11: To keep people from getting in, I suppose.
  • 4 of 11: While you are in the various rooms, you might as well go ahead and unlock the dumbwaiters.
  • 5 of 11: The dumbwaiters are used by the kitchen staff to send food up and down.
  • 6 of 11: Or maybe in your case, to send you up and down.
  • 7 of 11: So use the dumbwaiters to travel between the rooms that have them.
  • 8 of 11: Head down to the kitchen, and you will see two doors on the wall.  Open them to reveal the dumbwaiter shafts -- each shaft leads to two rooms.  Now, turn the handle near the door to lower the platform (if necessary), enter the shaft, and raise the platform by clicking on the ropes.  If you unlocked the doors inside the rooms, you can then leave the shafts to get into the rooms.
  • 9 of 11: If Gabriel doesn't want to enter the kitchen, talk to Jean at the desk. He'll give you a reason (or at least an excuse) to go into the kitchen, although you may not necessarily need it.
  • 10 of 11: You can also get into Baza's room by opening the dumbwaiter door in Gabriel's room and crawling into the dumbwaiter shaft, assuming you've raised the appropriate platform.
  • 11 of 11: Once you've gone through the dumbwaiters, you can also unlock the doors into the hallways before leaving the room.  (Click on the knob to find the "unlock" icon.)  You can then come and go without having to use the dumbwaiter.
