First start by reading the rules to the chess game. I'll assume that you know how all of the pieces move and that you know what you're objectives are. They're pretty straightforward if you've read the rules. If I say to move a piece to a certain square, you may have to take several moves to get it there, but I won't spell out the exact moves (especially since not every player will go through the chess game in exactly the same way).
