1 of 6: Read your letter from Jake.
2 of 6: It's in the river.
3 of 6: It's in the American River near Sutter's Mill, to be exact.
4 of 6: Sutter's Mill is to the east of the Fort.
5 of 6: Start panning the river near the mill, or digging in the ground around the mill. It may take some trial and error.
6 of 6: Be careful not to do either of these near another prospector! That's claim-jumpin'!
