Gothic 3 Hints

Liberate Cape Dun!

  • 1 of 14: Before you can get this mission, you'll need to do the "Bundles of weapons for Phil" mission and get your reputation in Cape Dun up to 75 points or more.
  • 2 of 14: When it's high enough, go to the lighthouse that's on the raised bit of ground just south of town and ask the orc guard to let you in.
  • 3 of 14: Go inside and talk to Wenzel until you get the option to liberate the city.
  • 4 of 14: Of course, the only way you'd want to actually do this is if you've decided to help the rebels instead of the orcs in this region.
  • 5 of 14: Choose the liberate-the-city dialogue option, but don't say that you don't need any help. When that option comes up, choose "End" instead.
  • 6 of 14: Then go back to Phil the swineherd and let him know you've spoken to Wenzel.
  • 7 of 14: He'll say that the rebels are ready to strike, and will do so when you and Wenzel start the attack.
  • 8 of 14: So go back and talk to Wenzel when you're ready to start the attack.
  • 9 of 14: When the place is finally liberated, you'll get 5000 XP and five Rebel rep points, plus XP for all the fleeing orcs and mercenaries.
  • 10 of 14: There may still be a couple of fleeing hostiles around that you might want to chase down, but you don't have to.
  • 11 of 14: If Wenzel survived, follow him to a spot near the town's NE exit and talk to him to get 750 XP and a Rebel rep point. You'll get another 1000 XP when you tell him that Cape Dun is now free.
  • 12 of 14: He'll also give you a mission that has to do with a special sword of his.
  • 13 of 14: Also, go talk to Phil to get two healing potions and 500 XP.
  • 14 of 14: And report the good news to Javier in Reddock sometime to get 1000 gold and 1000 XP.
