Gothic 3 Hints
Eliminate the five leaders of the orc siege inside the barrier.
1 of 19: You get this mission from Markus right after you teleport in to Vengard's temple.
2 of 19: The first thing to do is help the rebels eliminate the orcs who are in the temple's courtyard.
3 of 19: Then you need to start looking for the five orc commanders.
4 of 19: NOTE: If the paladin named Georg hasn't run off and gotten himself killed, you can talk to him to get him to tag along with you and help you fight orcs.
5 of 19: One orc commander is in the tall house you can see a short distance directly north of the temple's entrance.
6 of 19: Use luring-them-in tactics to get the commander and his followers to follow you to the temple where the rebels will help you kill them off.
7 of 19: TIP: Orc shamans can be a real pain with their spells, but they do usually hang back rather than charging you. Use that to your advantage by keeping out of their range until the other nearby orcs are dead, then see if you can find a spot where you can stand and shoot them without them being able to zap you. (If they keep healing themselves, you may have to charge them with a sword in order to kill them.)
8 of 19: After that commander's area is cleared out, you can have some fun using arrows and spells on the orcs in the house across the nearby SW chasm, though it'd take awhile to kill them all off that way. It's probably best to wait on them until you can get around to their area.
9 of 19: Find your way through the rubble NW of the temple to reach a small orc camp.
10 of 19: From the campfire, look SW to see another commander's house just ahead.
11 of 19: Clear it out by drawing as many orcs as you can back to the camp area, and from there to the temple if necessary.
12 of 19: From that commander's house, go south and up the stairs to reach the commander's house that you saw across the SW gorge at the temple.
13 of 19: From the third commander's house, head SW and start picking off orcs in that direction.
14 of 19: As you stand at the top of the slope that leads down to Vengard's SW gate, you can see the fourth commander's house over on the right. Eliminate the orcs there next.
15 of 19: When that area is clear, head up the stairs to the SE to find the fifth and final commander's house.
16 of 19: TIP: Before you go for the fifth commander, head out of Vengard's SW gate and look around for several treasure chests. Just don't get too close to the magic barrier, or it'll drain your life energy.
17 of 19: When you kill the fifth commander, you'll get 5000 XP, 15 Vengard rep points, and two Rebel rep points.
18 of 19: Return to Markus in the temple for a reward of 4000 gold and 1000 XP.
19 of 19: Also, report the death of the five commanders to Cobryn at the castle to get 2000 gold and 500 XP.
