Gothic 3: Forsaken Gods Hints

Ancient Knowledge

  • * Gotha: Tavin in the castle courtyard & Ulva in the big sunken pit area [m]
    * Montera: Ogit near the west gate [m]
    * Okara: the water mage in a side cave [m]
    * Rollan in the small enclosed camp a bit west of Gotha [m]
    * Vengard: Immanuel near the center of town [m]

There are also bookshelves that can increase your Ancient Knowledge the first time you use them. The increase is always +5.

    * Ardea: the upper floor of a building at the SE end of town
    * Faring: a house at the east end of the main castle area & the top floor of the library that's above the treasury room along the south side of the main castle area
    * Geldern: the main temple room (2)
    * Gotha: Gorn's house in the castle
    * Kapdun (Cape Dun): the house with a throne that's across the street from the alchemist's house
    * Silden: the lower floor of Anog's house at the SE end of town
    * Trelis: the alchemist's house that's along the south wall of the castle & the cave that's directly west from the orc compound's west exit
    * Vengard: a room on the south wall of the castle courtyard

Besides that, there are a few stone tablets that can increase Ancient Knowledge when used. In the case of traders who sell stone tablets, how many they have in inventory is randomly chosen when you first talk to them. You should quicksave right before doing so, then keep quickrestoring and checking their inventories until they have at least two stone tablets. (It's possible to get three, but that's really rare.)

    * Geldern: the weathered stone tablet on the large rock in the back of the mine NE of town
    * Okara: two large standing stone tablets in the water mage's side cave
    * Silden: the trader standing next to the two-story building at the NW end of town
    * Vengard: the Hashishin trader near the west gate
