Gothic 3: Forsaken Gods Hints

Guarded Areas Tips

  • 1 of 6: In some towns like Gotha and Vengard, there are areas guarded by soldiers who will tell you to stop and not take one step further when you get close to them.
  • 2 of 6: You can sometimes get by without them turning hostile if you sprint past them, right-clicking quickly to get by their dialogue when they warn you off.
  • 3 of 6: Also, in some areas (like Gotha's castle), the guards may not even bother you at all if you visit the area early in the game, before doing any main missions.
  • 4 of 6: If guards do turn hostile at your entry attempt, run well into the area they're guarding, then quicksave and quickrestore to reset them. (Do the same on your way out if necessary, too.)
  • 5 of 6: Another thing you can try is using a transformation potion to turn yourself into a critter like a bloodfly or boar, then move past the guards and wait to transform back into your human form. (Note that you can't talk to anyone or take any items while transformed, though you can attack people.)
  • 6 of 6: If there are few or no other people around, you might be able to get away with killing the guards, which would put an end to their annoying "stop" routine forever. Always quicksave first, though.
