Gothic 3: Forsaken Gods Hints
Get the ancient artifact before Thorus does.
1 of 7: Talk to Raik after finishing the "Kill Lazarus" mission to get this one.
2 of 7: The chest with the dragon bones in it is the one labeled "Hashishin's Chest" that's at the end of one of the snapper-infested tunnels on the sloping path past the SE end of Faring's village area.
3 of 7: You can shortcut this mission and open the chest with a lockpick if you can pick difficult locks. (See the Thief Skill Trainers list.) Or you can use an Open Locks scroll on it. However, taking this shortcut would skip a lot of XP.
4 of 7: If you'd rather not use the shortcut, go to Faring's castle courtyard and talk to the blacksmith named Kendl. He'll give you five separate key-getting missions.
5 of 7: After you turn all five keys in to Kendl, he'll make you a forged key that'll open the Hashishin's chest.
6 of 7: Get all five of the dragon bones from the chest, then turn around and see if a hostile troglodyte has appeared behind you. If it has, it may start attacking the nearby invisible NPC, allowing you time to hit it with ranged attacks or teleport away.
7 of 7: Return to Gotha and give the dragon bones to Raik to get Strength +5, 25,000 XP, and 500 gold. He'll also start offering you training services.
