How can I line up the tumblers?
  • 1 of 7: Try turning the dial for a bit.  Take a look at what happens.
  • 2 of 7: At first, just the bottom of the tumblers will spin with the wheel.  But if you keep turning, additional tumblers should start turning, starting with the second to the bottom, and working up to the top.  (If this doesn't happen, you may need to reverse the wheel.)
  • 3 of 7: Once some of the tumblers start spinning together, reverse the wheel again, and notice what happens.
  • 4 of 7: Only the bottom tumbler will move at first.  Then, progressively more tumblers start moving as well.
  • 5 of 7: Work on one tumbler at a time.
  • 6 of 7: Start by getting the top tumbler lined up.  Then, change the direction on the wheel, and keep turning until the second tumbler from the top is lined up. Repeat to get the next to tumbers in place from top to bottom.
  • 7 of 7: You can tell if you got this right by having Manny look at the lock.  If he says the tumblers are lined up, then they are.  If not, you didn't do this quite right.
