How do I get Carla's metal detector?
1 of 11: You first might want to concentrate on giving her a reason to use it.
2 of 11: She is only allowed to use it when a normal search of a person's inventory doesn't turn up the metal items that the free-standing metal detector finds.
3 of 11: That means you need to find some way of getting metal onto your person without carrying it.
4 of 11: You should eventually find an item that will leave metal deposits in your system.
5 of 11: Try the Marillo de Oro bottle in the bar in your cafe. Drink that, and you will then set off the free-standing metal detector. And Carla will have to search you with the hand-held metal detector.
6 of 11: Her "conversation" is pretty boring. You should just get to the point.
7 of 11: Ask her about the metal detector, and make sure she knows you want it. She will then throw it in the litter of the stables below.
8 of 11: The metal detector will respond any metal that's nearby. Even if you have to bring the metal to it, instead of vice-versa.
9 of 11: You will hear the metal detector start to beep faintly as you get close to it. But you still need something to fish it out of the litter.
10 of 11: Use your scythe on the kitty litter. There are several different hot spots that you will have to try individually, so if Manny doesn't find the detector in his first try, keep trying again.
