Half-Life Hints
Shotgun
The double-barrel shotgun is a very powerful weapon, though it is not very accurate at a distance. It holds 8 bullets per clip +125 bullets max. It is not water-compatible. (Trying to use it underwater won't ruin it or its ammo; it just won't fire.)
The double-barrel shotgun is best used for breaking through barriers quickly. Use it, for example, in Blast Pit when you want to break through the boarded-up passageways quickly. The shotgun is also a decent weapon for relatively close combat. Don't plan on sniping with it, though.
