Half-Life Hints
How do I make it to the main floating island?
of 10: First off, you need to make a long-jump from the initial platform to the platform off to your left that has a dead scientist in an HEV suit.
of 10: Remember that to use your new long-jump module, you have to be running forward, then hit the Crouch key (Ctrl) and then the Jump key (Spacebar) right afterward.
of 10: Next, you need to make another long-jump from that platform over to the platform that has (or had) an alien slave walking around on it.
of 10: Once you land on this platform a houndeye and another alien slave will teleport in.
of 10: Take care of them and begin figuring out how to time your jump over to the rotating platforms that you can now reach.
of 10: Long-jump over to the array of rotating platforms.
of 10: There is no right or wrong way to make it to the main island, but it is possible to navigate the floating, rotating platforms down to the ground without losing any life.
of 10: To do so, always jump or drop down to the next-highest platform in the series.
of 10: Once you make it to the ground, look over the edge for spires that stick straight out.
of 10: Hop down onto one of them. You will find that you were actually walking on the "roof" of the main island, and that there is more to this floating rock than you at first perceived.
