How do I reach the teleportation pad floating in the middle of space?

  • 1 of 17: There does not appear to be any way to reach the pad from the ground. Therefore, it might be a good idea to begin looking for a way up to where you can reach the various rotating platforms.
  • 2 of 17: The bounce-pads that suck you in and spit you out may be one way to do things, but it is a very deadly way to do things.
  • 3 of 17: Instead, be creative and begin looking for an alternate route up.
  • 4 of 17: Did you notice some of the alien spires raising up when you first teleported in? It sure would be nice to ride one of them up.
  • 5 of 17: They seem to start their ascent from underground.
  • 6 of 17: You need to find a way inside the main floating island you are on. It is too risky waiting around for aliens to begin transporting in anyhow.
  • 7 of 17: There is a crevice that leads into a cave, but it may be difficult to find. When you first transport in, the crevice is on the far end of the island off to your right.
  • 8 of 17: You will enter a system of caves with all sorts of fun stuff including headcrabs, barnacles, bullchickens, and even a cave that tries to trap and suffocate you. (Run through that cave fast enough and it can't get you.)
  • 9 of 17: Keep moving through the caves until you come to a point where barnacles are on the ceiling and a bullchicken is in one of the corners.
  • 10 of 17: There is a recess blocked by some vines. Break through the vines and crawl through.
  • 11 of 17: There are some more vines inside this recess as well, though they do not seem to block anything.
  • 12 of 17: Break through them anyhow.
  • 13 of 17: One of the giant spires will come crashing down to where you can stand on the top of it. Hop on. The spire will raise back up shortly.
  • 14 of 17: You can now begin navigating from rotating platform to rotating platform, once again always dropping to the next-highest platform in the series to avoid severe damage.
  • 15 of 17: Once you are in position, jump onto one of the flyers. It should carry you across to the teleportation pad.
  • 16 of 17: You'll have to long-jump to the pad once you're in range, and before the flyer vanishes.
  • 17 of 17: Note that you'll be under attack by alien controllers and alien slaves throughout this process, and you should use whatever ammo you have to to survive.
