Should I take the job?
1 of 2: The best way to do things is to save your game just after the offer is made. That way you can come back and play both scenarios.
2 of 2: As for exactly what the job is, and who the freaky Administrator and his "employers" are, the next two games in the series (Opposing Force and Blue Shift) don't reveal any of this, so I guess it'll have to wait for Half-Life II.
