What is this totally weird alien-looking weapon I just picked up?
1 of 5: You must be referring to the hornet gun, which is on the floor of the room you end up in after descending from the mega-trap area.
2 of 5: It is an alien weapon. It's the one the alien grunts use.
3 of 5: You can use its regular fire mode to fire angry red hornets that will seek out living beings to sting. It's great for sneak-shooting and around-the-corners work since you don't even have to see any part of the enemy to hit him.
4 of 5: Its secondary attack mode is good for firing hornets in a straight line fast. Try it out on the explosive crates in the room where you find it.
5 of 5: Then move down the corridor a short ways to encounter some marines to try out the regular fire mode on.
