1 of 2: Those small puppy-like creatures are called houndeyes. They usually attack in packs, so if you see one, expect there to be four more around the corner.
2 of 2: They run around like little animals until they begin giving off a loud, high-pitched noise. The noise produces enough sonic pitch to injure the unsuspecting victims. They can also work as primitive squads.
