Half-Life Hints
What just shot and killed that scientist?
1 of 5: Apparently, the Black Mesa security system has gone Y2K. It must have malfunctioned after the experiment went haywire.
2 of 5: The security feature that just killed that scientist is an auto-turret. It will attack any living creature in a room.
3 of 5: The turret will eventually go to "sleep" when it does not pick up on any living thing in its vicinity. It usually takes about 30 seconds before it gives up searching the area.
4 of 5: You can tell when the turret is "sleeping" when the annoying beep, associated with a powered-up turret, no longer sounds.
5 of 5: The auto-turret will "awaken" when it senses motion in the room. You will have a second or two before it fully powers up and begins shooting again.
