Soldier Combat Tips
1 of 4: Immediately get the pistol out and back up to the corner in the alley.
2 of 4: Pop soldiers in the head with the pistol until they get fairly close, then run around the corner and wait for them with either the shotgun or the gravity gun (holding sheets of metal or scanner debris).
3 of 4: As an alternative, you can run forward to where you can pick up a red gas canister and throw it at them, then take cover in the corner just to the right (crouch while holding a blue recycling bin in front of you) while Alyx finishes them off.
4 of 4: Don't neglect to pick up the soldiers' SMGs after they're all dead.
