Half-Life 2: Episode One Hints
How can I take this sniper out?
1 of 9: By getting up next to his little sniper nest and tossing him a live frag grenade.
2 of 9: First, descend the stairs and get the second rollermine converted to your cause the same way you did the first one.
3 of 9: The two rollermines will be a big help outside with the antlions and the Combine soldier at the mounted gun, so throw them outside while you stay inside under cover.
4 of 9: Give them a bit of time to deal with the enemies, then run from cover to cover until you're directly under the sniper's window.
5 of 9: Use the gravity gun to pull in and break the two supply crates in the recessed area just ahead of you.
6 of 9: They both contain grenades, so suck them all up before they can roll away.
7 of 9: Get the grenades out and back up slowly so that you can lob a grenade into the sniper's window and blow him up. (You might want to quicksave first in case you miss so you don't have to use more than one grenade on this.)
8 of 9: Or you can save all of your grenades and toss one of the rollermines through the sniper's window. That'll get him, too.
9 of 9: WARNING: The rollermines will overload and blow up right after the sniper is killed, so quickly run away from them or throw them far away to make sure you aren't damaged.
