Soldier Ambush Tips
1 of 7: This combat is rigged so that Alyx is always in the room and under heavy fire when the soldiers arrive. If you run off for better cover and hope she follows, she'll always get killed.
2 of 7: But if you stay in the middle of the room to fight soldiers, you'll probably get killed, too.
3 of 7: It's best to retreat to the doorway you came in through and stand there while helping Alyx take down the soldiers.
4 of 7: Have the SMG ready and use your SMG grenade to instantly kill the first soldier to charge into the room.
5 of 7: Or start shooting him with the SMG, and use your SMG grenade on the two soldiers who run in through the door on the left.
6 of 7: Or if you used my earlier tip to get two SMG grenades, you can use them both here to make things even easier (though you might want to save one for later).
7 of 7: Then quickly switch to the pulse rifle and head-shot the rest of them.
