Half-Life 2: Episode One Hints
The left generator is blocked by some sort of shield!
1 of 6: You'll have to figure out how to get rid of that shield.
2 of 6: But if you look around, there doesn't seem to be any way to do that.
3 of 6: What if you didn't remove the shield, but instead worked around it?
4 of 6: Try firing an energy orb so it'll hit the part of the wall that's directly above the generator and just above the shield.
5 of 6: The orb should bounce from the wall to the inner part of the shield, and then into the generator.
6 of 6: Keep firing orbs that way until you get one in and the bridge activates.
