How can I keep this debris from knocking me off the elevator?
1 of 6: Start by looking straight up, as Alyx suggests.
2 of 6: Stand in the center of the elevator and watch for large debris to fall straight at you.
3 of 6: When you see a big piece getting close, start leaning on the secondary fire key so the gravity gun will grab the debris for you.
4 of 6: Quickly throw it away (to the side, not straight up), and wait for more to come.
5 of 6: TIP: Throw debris into energy conduits to disintegrate it. That'll make sure it can't fall back down onto the elevator after you throw it. Rotating your view so that the conduits are in front of you while you're looking up really helps with this.
6 of 6: WARNING: Be careful not to accidentally grab a small piece of debris when a big one is about to hit the elevator. Big ones are sometimes accompanied by small ones just to make things harder.
