What's new in release 3...

  • This is release 3 of this hint file. It includes the following additions to release 2 (8/13/2006):

    * armor battery tip in Ch. 1's second section
    * tips for opening up lockers in several different areas to find hidden supplies
    * tip for using a Combine elite's energy orb against him in Ch. 4's fourth section
    * a few improvements to the shortcut tips in Ch. 5's second section
    * several minor corrections and additions


    Release 2 included the following changes over the original release of 6/13/2006:

    * improved tips for crossing the core chamber using the slanty extensions in Ch. 2's first section
    * shortcut way to repower the third containment machine in Ch. 2's first section
    * improved tips for handling the three-level parking garage in Ch. 3's second section
    * improved tips for the zombie/zombine attack in the fence room area in Ch. 3's second section
    * improved tips and a warning for fixing the elevator at the end of Ch. 3
    * handy alternative for the "seesaw" pipe problem in Ch. 4's first section
    * improved tips for the zombie ambush just past the sniper area in Ch. 4's first section

    * new strategy added for the antlion guard battle in Ch. 4's second section
