2 of 4: Notice that it rhythmically expands and contracts.
3 of 4: Move along the nearest bridge until you're near the core, but are still safe from its expanded form.
4 of 4: After quicksaving, wait until the core starts to contract, then sprint right past it and onto the next bridge.
